YABAKI AND AH KOY VOTES UNDERWAY

Count officials in the Eastern Count Centre are now scrutinising the votes of the Kadavu Fijian Provincial Communal Constituency.
The candidates vying for this seat are current Caretaker Minister for Tourism and Transport, Konisi Yabaki for the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) party and James Ah Koy for the Soqosoqo ni Vakavulewa ni Taukei (SVT)party.
In the 1999 general election, Ah Koy (SVT) won the same seat through taking some 83 per cent of the votes on the first count.
Ah Koy gained 4159 votes while Emasi Qovu(FAP) polled489 votes and Alipate Vosawale (VLV) polled 339 votes.
The Kadavu Fijian Provincial Communal Constituency has a total of 6,540 registered voters, an increase of 695 voters.
