CENTRAL DIVISION DAY ONE POLLING REPORT

(May 7th, 2006 No. 66)

Despite setbacks all polling stations in the Central Division carried out polls when they were ready, with some polling stations in the greater Suva area starting two hours late.

In Korovou, one thousand three hundred and twelve (1,312) people went through the six polling stations of Korovou for day one of Fiji going to the 2006 polls.

As for Rewa out of the six polling stations two polling stations Naceva and Sawau could not be reached for reports. Eight hundred and ninety one (891) people cast their votes at the four polling stations and as at 12 midday today, Naceva and Sawau are still out of communication link.

From Naitasiri, out of the eight polling stations only seven had filed in their reports with Tubarua polling station yet to file. And out of the seven polling stations 866 people had cast their votes.

For Suva, out of the 14 polling stations only four managed to give an update with 1,478 people casting their votes yesterday.

Tailevu managed to file reports from eight of the 15 polling stations and votes cast were 1,509.

As for Serua, four polling stations reported that 635 people had voted yesterday and Namosi has yet to file in their reports.
