GOOD TURN OUT AT POLLING FOR CENTRAL DIVISION ON TUESDAY

(May 10th, 2006 No. 73)
The Central Division has seen a good turn out on all polling stations on the third day of Fiji going to the polls for the 2006 General Elections.
Despite the lack of availability of communication means Presiding Officers went out of their way to facilitate the two hourly reports that had to be filled out.
In the Division already a total of 730 Ballot Boxes have been received over the last two days of polling. There has also been a marked improvement in the standard of boxes delivered to the Box Centre, at Suva Grammer School.
Deficiencies were minimal in the Central Division, such as broken wax and partly obscured box labels. These minor deficiencies were amended accordingly.
According to the Box Team of the Central Division, each day and its problems are addressed accordingly and improved on the next day. This to a great extent has greatly helped in the proper deliverance of ballot boxes to the main count centre in Veiuto.
