EU OBSERVERS VISIT KADAVU

A team of three personnel from the European Union Observers Team arrived in Kadavu on Tuesday for inspection of the polls is being carried out around the province.

The team will today (Wednesday 11/05) visit the polling stations serviced by the teams on board the MV Bulou Ni Ceva.

According to the Provincial Administrator Kadavu, Eliki Masa, the team will observe the opening of boxes and procedures undertaken by polling officials in line with the instructions and guidelines in the Electoral Act.

Polling stations that will be observed today are Muanisolo, Namara, Mataso, Dravuwalu and Galoa.

After observing the teams on board the MV Bulou Ni Ceva the team will then inspect the MV Cagi Mai Ba.

All polling officials are well on board the two ships and service provided is described as excellent.

All together there are 13 teams operating in Kadavu with a standby team based at the Provincial Administrator (DO) Vunisea’s office.

There are also three Communications Officer and one Information Officer relaying information to the Eastern Division Headquarters in Suva.

Current figures for votes cast in Kadavu for the last three days of polling stands at two thousand and thirteen (2013).

Nine polling stations are in operation each day for the province.
