BERNADETTE ROUNDS DECLARED WINNER FOR THE SUVA CITY GENERAL COMMUNAL

Bernadette Rounds Ganilau of the United People’s Party was declared the winner of the Suva City General Communal Constituency by the Returning Officer Central Mr. Inoke Devo.

She has been declared winner over three other candidates from the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL), National Federation Party (NFP) and an independent.

Furthermore, she won the seat by an absolute majority of 1458 followed by the SDL with 702, independent with 510 and the NFP with 60 votes.

In addition, the number of valid votes for this constituency was 2730 against the invalid votes of 166

The number of voters needed for an absolute majority was 1366.
