KUMAR WINS BA EAST INDIAN COMMUNAL SEAT

Jain Kumar of the Fiji Labour Party (FLP) has been declared the winner of the Ba East Indain Communal Constituency.

Kumar was declared the winner over two other candidates from the National Federation Party (NFP) and the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua Party.

Kumar won a majority of 4956 votes over NFP who managed 1874 votes and the candidate from the SDL with 34 votes.

The number of ballot papers counted was 7532and the number of valid votes was 6864 against 668 invalid votes.

The number needed for a majority was 3433.
