RA FIJIAN PROVINCIAL AND NADI URBAN INDIAN SEATS DECLARED

Ra Fijian Provincial & Nadi Urban Indian seats declared

The caretaker Minister for Commerce, Business Development and Investment, Tomasi Vuetilovoni has retained the Ra Fijian Provincial communal seat – constituency number nine.

At the first count, Mr Vuetilovoni scored 6,456 votes ahead of the Fiji Labour Party’s Timoci Naco who scored 1,048 votes, National Alliance’s Mosese Raimuria with 225 votes and Tevita Tabalailai an independent with 734 votes.

The total number of valid votes was 8,463 with the number of rejected or invalid votes being 1127.

Meanwhile, constituency 34 the Nadi Urban Indian communal seat was won by Fiji Labour Party’s Gunusagaran Gounder with 8,108 votes.

Behind him were SDL’s Mohammed Zarib with 266 votes, NFP’s Sushila Rameshwar with 2,152 votes and the two independents Kamlesh Prasad with 120 votes and Sanmogan Naidu Sanu with 15 votes.

The total number of valid votes was 10,660 with 793 being considered as invalid.
