LUVENI DECLARED WINNER OF NASINU FIJIAN URBAN COMMUNAL

Former soldier Inoke Luveni has just been declared the winner for Nasinu Fijian Urban communal seat constituency number 23.
At the first count Mr Luveni attained 10,361 votes ahead of the National Alliance Party’s Joji Uluinakauvadra who had 459 votes, Fiji Labour Party’s Vilikesa Ravia with 800 votes, and independent Emasi Qovu with 630 votes.
The total number of ballot papers counted was 13,357 with 837 considered as invalid leaving the total number of valid papers at 12,520.
The number of voters required for the majority was 6,261.
The number of voters for this constituency totaled 15,692.
Meanwhile in other constituencies, Agni Deo Singh was declared winner of the Macuata East Open seat with 8,357 votes obtained at the first count. His two other counterparts Iliesa Seru of the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) party with 3,343 votes and Parmod Chand of the National Federation Party with 1,669 votes.
In the Western side, the winner for the Vuda Indian communal seat has been declared by the Returning Officer Western, Savenaca Kaunisela as Vyas Deo Sharma with 7131 votes.
In second place was Rajendra Singh of the National Federation Party with 748 votes, then Abdul Rahiman of SDL with 330 votes, Sanel Prasad with 155 votes and Arbin Narayan with only 14 votes.
And for the Laucala Indian communal constituency number 40 Dewan Chand of the Fiji Labour Party was declared the winner for this seat at the first count.
His votes tallied 13,133 ahead of Sundresan Goundar of the NFP with 828 votes, NAP’s Praveen Chand with 544 votes, Indar Singh of SDL with 203 votes and Roshan Dildar Shah of the Justice and Freedom party with only 18 votes.
The total number of ballot papers counted in this constituency was 15,983 with the total number of invalid papers being 1,257 leaving the total number of valid papers at 14,726.
