RO TEIMUMU RETAINS REWA FIJIAN PROVINCIAL COMMUNAL

Caretaker Education Minister and Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Teimumu Kepa of th Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) party today retains the Rewa Fijian Provincial seat which she won on the first count with 3,401 votes.

Ro Teimumu won ahead of Ro Filipe Tuisawau an independent who scored 2,371 votes, Fiji Labour Party’s Taniela Senikuta with 167 votes and Viliame Raile another independent with only 95 votes.

The number of ballot papers counted was 6,675 with the total number of invalid papers being 639 leaving the total number of valid papers at 6,036.

The number of voters required for an absolute majority was 3,019.
