WAQAIRATU WINS FOR SDL

The Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) party candidate for the Tamavua/Laucala Fijian urban communal – constituency number 22, Jone Waqairatu has been declared the winner in this seat.

Waqairatu won on the first count with 10,880 votes and behind him were Fiji Labour Party’s Jone Tubuto 970 votes, National Alliance’s Netani Sukanaivalu 788 votes, National Federation Party’s Laisiasa Corerega with 128 votes, NFP’s Kepu Kaumaitotoya 28 votes and Independent Basilio Kalokalodromu with 18 votes.

The total number of ballot papers counted was 13,491 with 679 considered as invalid and 12,812 being the total number of valid papers.

The number of voters required for the majority was 6,409.
