TAHIR WINS LABASA RURAL INDIAN COMMUNAL SEAT

The Fiji Labour Party through Mohammed Tahir has taken out the Labasa Rural Indian Communal constituency.
Mr. Tahir was declared the winner by the Returning Officer northern Misieli Naivalu over two other candidates from the National Alliance Party (NAP) and the National Federation Party (NFP) respectively.
FLP managed to secure a majority of 5279 votes over the second place 930 for the NFP and NAP with 139 votes.
The number of ballot papers counted was 7012 however; the number of valid votes was 6348 against the number of invalid votes of 664.
The number of votes needed for a majority of 3175 votes.
