MAHARAJ WINS VITI LEVU EAST MARITIME INDIAN COMMUNAL SEAT

Sanjeet Chand Maharaj of the Fiji Labour Party (FLP) was declared the winner of the Vitilevu East Maritime Indian Communal Constituency.

Maharaj was declared winner over three other candidates from the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua Party (SDL), the National Federation Party (NFP) and an independent candidate.

In addition, the FLP managed to secure a majority of 4744 votes over second place NFP with 946 votes, independent candidate of 200 votes and SDL with 162 votes.

There were 6052 valid votes against 569 invalid votes living the total number of votes counted at 6621.
