TABAIWALU SECURES SERUA FIJIAN COMMUNAL SEAT

The Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua Party (SDL) secured the Serua Fijian Communal seat through Pio Kameli Tabaiwalu.

Tabaiwalu was declared the winner over the three other candidates from the Nationalist Vanua Tako Lavo Party (NVTLP), and two independent candidates.

In addition Tabaiwalu managed to win a majority of 2792 votes over second place Sakeasi Lomalagi an independent with 431 votes, Aminiasi Vucago also an independent with 232 votes and NVTLP with 147 votes.

Furthermore, the number of ballot papers counted was 4114 and the number of valid ballot papers was 3602 against invalid votes of 510.

The required number of votes for a majority was 1802.
