SHIU RAJ WINS RA OPEN SEAT

Former Minister George Shiu Raj of the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua was declared the winner for the Ra Open seat.

Shiu Raj was declared the winner after gaining the majority vote for this constituency.

In addition, Shiu won a total of 10,172 votes over two other candidates from the Fiji Labour Party (FLP) and the National Alliance Party (NAP)

The number of votes counted was 17597 out of which 16010 was declared valid against 1537 invalid votes.

Furthermore, the number of votes needed to gain a majority was 8006.
