CHAUDHRY RETAINS SEAT

Mahendra Pal Chaudry was declared the winner for the Ba Open Seat by the Returning Officer Western Savenaca Kaunisela.

Chaudry was declared the winner after gaining the majority vote for this constituency.

In addition, Chaudry won a total of 10,709 votes over six other candidates from the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL), the National Federation Party (NFP), the National Alliance Party (NAP) and the Party of National Unity (PANU).

The number of votes counted was 18,347 out of which 16,925 was declared valid against 1422 invalid votes.

Furthermore, the number of votes needed to gain a majority was 8464.
