DAMODAR WINS TAVUA OPEN SEAT

Damodar of the Fiji Labour Party (FLP) was declared the winner for the Tavua Open seat.

Damodar was declared the winner by the Returning Officer Western Savenaca Kaunisela after gaining the majority vote for this constituency.

In addition, Anthony won a total of 7231 votes over three other candidates from the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL), National Federation Party (NFP), the Party of National Unity (PANU) and the National Alliance Party.

The number of votes counted was 14,563 out of which 13,418 was declared valid against 1145 invalid votes.

Furthermore, the number of votes needed to gain a majority was 6710.
