PROGRESSIVE RESULT FOR SERUA/NAVOSA OPEN

The Serua/Navosa Open constituency is going through to its second progressive count after no candidate was able to reach the required number of voters to obtain a majority.

After the first count, an independent candidate with the lowest number of votes was excluded.

However, leading the tally in this constituency is Jone Vakamocea of the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) followed by the Fiji Labour Party (FLP) with 6318 votes.

Other parties still in the contest for this seat are National Federation Party (NFP), the National Alliance Party (NAPF), Nationalist Vanua Tako Lavo Party (NVTLP) plus two other independents.

The number of ballot papers counted was 20,362 and the number of valid votes was 17,781 against 2581 invalid votes.

Furthermore, the number of votes required in order to gain majority was 8892.
