NAVAKAMOCEA WINS SERUA/NAVOSA OPEN SEAT

Jone Navakamocea of the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua Party was declared the winner for the Serua/Navosa Open Constituency.

After going through its sixth consecutive progressive count, he was able to obtain the majority needed.

The number of ballot papers counted for this constituency was 20,362 out of which 17,781 were declared valid against 2581 invalid votes.

Navakamocea edged out close rival Peniasi Dakua of the Fiji Labour Party to surpass the majority with 10,143 votes.

Atunaisa Rasoki (NDP) lost out on the second count with 196 votes, Anisi Bati independent lost on the first count with 81 votes, Jona Rokowai (NVTLP) lost out on the fourth count with 623 votes, Pio Wong (Independent) lost out on the fifth count with 1022 votes, William McGoon (NFP) lost out on the sixth count with 1860 votes and Viliame Bale (NAPF) lost out on the third count with 347 votes.

The number of votes needed for a majority was 8892.
